a good protocol answers a real recurring problem. name the moment it's for.

Write the smallest version
five steps, one page, followable by a stranger. if it needs you there to explain it, it's too big.

Run it once, badly
don't perfect it on paper. try it with real people and watch where it breaks.

Cut what didn't earn its place
every step that confused someone or got skipped comes out. a protocol is what's left after you subtract.

Give it away
name it, print it, hand it off. a protocol that only you can run isn't a protocol, it's a talent.
Run it: think of something you do well that others struggle with. write it as five steps. congrats, you made a protocol.
